Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic day and were able to spend it with those you love. Jesse and I were not able to go visit our family because I had to stay in town to work Black Friday (dun dun dun).
We started off our Thanksgiving morning by putting up the Christmas tree. Yes, we are a bit early but I bought this cute ornament at Anthropologie and couldn’t wait to put her on display.
The pups were very interested in all the excitement going on and they frantically danced around as we put up the tree.
Jesse and I were not planning on doing anything special for Thanksgiving but a few days ago we received an amazing gift from my parents who sent us a whole Thanksgiving dinner from Omaha Steaks.
It came all packaged up and barely fit into the freezer; we thought for a minute there we were going to have to eat all the eggrolls and ice cream to make it fit 😉
I don’t do a lot of cooking so this packaged dinner was right up my ally. All I had to do was take it out of the packaging and pot it into the oven, easy peasy!
Here is our magnificent feast complete with a whole turkey, sage stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole, and pumpkin cheesecake. (Notice the little pair of eyes lusting over the food, that went on until the last dish was loaded in the dishwasher)
After our feast, we all had a nice nap and then watched several episodes of the BBC Sherlock series on Netflix (highly recommend). Overall it was a great and relaxing day but I really missed all my friends and family back home!
Are any of you planning on joining the coo-coo birds and doing some Black Friday shopping? If so, have fun, be safe, and wear comfortable shoes!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Natalie
Awh! You’re dog is adorable. 🙂 And don’t worry about having your tree up early. Because I had to come back to school we put our tree up at home after Black Friday shopping. Who cares if it’s early…it looks great. Hope Black Friday wasn’t too crazy for you! I know what it is like to work in retail on that day.
