This weekend I received the most delightful gift in the mail. My sweet sister sent me a little taste of Paris in the form of authentic macarons from Pavillon Ledoyen Paris.
It arrived in a box packed carefully with dry ice and surrounded with a surplus of styrofoam to ensure a safe arrival of these delicate desserts.
They were so beautiful and perfect that I almost felt guilty taking them out of the packaging and eating them. Once I bit into one of the fluffy little cake, it perfectly crumbled and immediately melted in my mouth and I have to restrain myself from eating the whole package in one sitting. Instead, I took a small bite of each flavor and placed them bite-down back into the packaging so they still looked untouched.
The package I received contained two of each flavor: chocolate, caramel, raspberry, pistachio, café, and blackberry. The gooey ganache flawlessly paired with the flakey shell makes for a pure and smooth, creamy and intense, match made in heaven. My favorite was the café flavor, trust me, the French know their coffee and they have managed to wrap that same flavor up in a petit perfect pastry!
Shout out to my sweetie pie sister, Samantha, for the amazing surprise! Hope you all had a great weekend and have a fantastic day!
XO,
Nat
