There is a thunderstorm brewing outside right now. I’m cozied inside with my cup of Cinnamon Apple Spice tea and my Michael Buble Pandora station (talk about the perfect pair). This can mean only one thing, fall has officially arrived. She took her time this year, allowing Summer some overtime but slowly she has awakened and fully eggressed from her hibernation. The leaves have surrendered to the change, a bounty of pumpkins have arrived in stores, and there’s a crispness in the air. As sad as I am to accept that the summer days and its warm weather are gone, I’m ready to embrace the weather and cozy up in some warm layers.
These are a few of my style inspirations for effortless layering. I love how layering allows you to pair colder weather staples with some of your spring/summer pieces. The only downside is that your laundry load will likely increase 😉
I pulled together this look using some staples that you likely already have in your wardrobe. You can achieve this look by layering a flannel or plaid blouse under a cozy sweater and top it off with an infinity scarf and a jacket. Black skinny jeans or leggings paired with some riding boots will keep you comfortable and warm when you go out of your way to step on that crunchy leaf on the sidewalk. To tie the whole look together, add a slouchy satchel and a group of various bangles, bracelets, and rings. Another great thing about fall is all the new flavors of coffee at Starbucks, if you get the chance pop in and try their Salted Caramel Mocha.. yum!
What are some of your favorite things about fall? Do you have any tips on how to achieve the perfect “layered look?“
