Good morning and happy Friday to you! Sorry for being a little MIA this week, it was a bit of a whirlwind week. We left my parents’ house on Sunday morning and got snowed in to a little town just 2 hours away from Omaha. We woke up early the next morning once the roads had reopened and the roads were so icy that it actually took us close to 5 hours to get home (plus we saw well over 200 cars in the ditch from the night before..scary)! I then had about 30 minutes to unload the car, shower, get ready, and head to work where I was interviewing for a new position. After that stressful 72 hours though, I am happy to announce that I got the promotion and will be the new home department supervisor, hooray! This week has been such a blur and I apologize for not posting earlier but alas, here are my (spring time) Friday favorites for this week.
Favorite Spring Decor:
After all that snow last weekend, we are not having weather in the 60’s which is sparking my spring fever! These delicate white vases with pops of color from their wild flower inhabitants makes this the perfect spring time décor, so simple but still makes a big impact.
Favorite Spring Outfit:
This is the perfect transitional outfit right now, the weather is too warm for sweaters but to cool for shorts. The coral pink pants paired with the navy blue top and small white satchel makes for the perfect spring outfit that anyone could pull off.
Favorite Spring Recipe:
With the weather getting warmer the last thing I want to eat in the morning is a big bowl of hot oatmeal. When I was visiting, my mom had me try her vanilla chia overnight oats which uses almost no ingredients, requires no prep in the mornings, is super healthy, and (most importantly) tastes delicious! This has become my go-to breakfast every morning ( I like mine with honey and walnuts)! You can go here to get her Vanilla Chia Overnight Oats recipe.
Favorite Spring-Inspired Room:
The bold purples and limes in this room are perfectly balanced by the neutral whites and clean lines. I am in love with that ombre picture and how they echoed the same colors elsewhere in the room with the vase of tulips. I think the picture and flowers are two inspiration pieces I could actually carry into my home, I don’t think the lime green chairs would go over well with J.
Favorite Laugh:
Well this isn’t really a spring-themed video but it did make me laugh. Jeff Gordon (NASCAR driver) goes under cover and plays a prank on a poor car salesman! I must say I was impressed with how long he stayed composed and polite!
