Good morning friends! I hope you had a fantastic weekend, mine was spent doing a little spring cleaning and organizing. Along the way I kept finding various knick-knacks that I didn’t know what to do with so with the help from a little acrylic paint, I created some fun storage by sprucing up a couple of my old Birchboxes!
Soon after finishing painting, after all my brushes had been cleaned and I put my supplies away, my April Birchbox arrived on my doorstep (go figure!) but at least now I have another box to use in the future, possibly for a small gift? This month’s Birchbox theme was, “tiny tweaks, big results.” Intriguing.
This month’s box contained three samples of Weleda body lotions: Pomegranate, Wild Rose, and Sea Buckthorn. I immediately opened the pomegranate one and smothered it on my skin. It felt really silky and although it didn’t necessarily smell like pomegranate, it did remind me of what a good spa smells like (kind of a calming sultry scent?)
Next there was shine-boosting serum that is meant to cure dry strands and reduce age-related breakage. Who knew there was anti-aging hair products!? I don’t think my hair is old enough to qualify for “age-related breakage” but hey I’m not going to turn down a good shine-boost.
This next product seemed a little more my speed, Youngblood’s anti-shine mattifier. This little puppy promises to zap excess shine when you use just a little dab before applying foundation. This is a product that I have high hopes for because I actually need something like this in my makeup bag so if it works I’ll definitely be buying a full size!
My April Birchbox also contained StriVectin-SD Eye Concentrate for Wrinkles which makes me think Birchbox is hinting at something here but it also is supposed to help reverse the look of puffy circles which is something I definitely struggle with! Last was a sample of SKIN&CO Roma’s body gel with olive and Sicilian orange extracts. This stuff smells really fresh and clean plus it is packed with antioxidants all the way from Roma, this Italian Stallion may just be just what my shower was missing!
The Birchbox came with a one-year trial subscription to Women’s Health magazine which I will definitely be taking advantage of, other than that I don’t necessarily think any of the products are meant to help me “fine-tune my lifestyle” but hey at least I won’t have aging hair and wrinkles 😉 Thanks Birchbox!
